Hear from 2024 VBS Scientific Paper Session Speaker, Elena Contreras, DVM, MS, Phd:

"The ACVB Veterinary Behavior Symposium is the one veterinary symposium/conference that I make sure to attend every year. It provides me with the opportunity to learn about the most recent advances in veterinary behavior research, including new psychopharmaceuticals or newly studied medications and treatments, as well as the efficacy of management strategies, and many other topics. The symposium champions science, innovation, and evidence-based medicine through research, all of which I deeply appreciate. Additionally, it allows me to stay informed about the field’s current scientific “hot topics” each year.

Even though I’m not a board-certified veterinary behaviorist or even a practicing clinician these days, I never feel like an outsider at the VBS. The VBS and its leaders and organizers are extraordinarily welcoming and inclusive... The VBS allows me to network and be and feel a part of the veterinary behavior scientific community. And this community comprises a brilliant and inspiring group of colleagues. Each year, I meet and develop new relationships with fantastic individuals - including vet students, practitioners, specialists, and technicians/nurses, all who are dedicated to the importance of understanding behavior in vet med. I don’t think I’ll ever miss a VBS."

THE conference for veterinary behavior interested professionals - with latest relevant science & easy to connect"
