Mice and rats are common pets for children because they are small and require less maintenance than some other animals. They are intelligent, curious creatures who are sensitive to handling and their environment. Dr. Connolly will review normal behavior of mice and rats and how to meet their specific behavioral needs to optimize their welfare and overall health. This talk is geared towards clinicians and pet owners alike to enhance the welfare of pet mice and rats through better understanding of their unique behavioral needs.
